12: Why Entrepreneurs & Leaders Feel Tired All The Time Despite “Eating Clean and Exercising”

Welcome to episode 12 of Optimal Health For Busy Entrepreneurs.

We’re often told that optimal health is about “eating clean” and exercising. However, that’s not revealing the entirety of the picture.

Optimal and enhanced health is about much more than this. It’s not complicated, but it can be complex.

Today’s episode is about answering a common question I hear all the time: “Why do I still feel tired all the time” despite “eating healthy” and exercising?”

And in this episode, I’ll share each of the 10 points and go into detail for each one along with sharing insights on how to leverage each one.

The 10 points are:

  1. Lack of a convincing mission or being disconnected from it.
  2. Being dehydrated more than you realize
  3. You’re getting low-quality sleep
  4. You don’t have a consistent sleep and wake up time
  5. Your circadian rhythms are off
  6. You’re more sedentary than you think
  7. Your nutrition plan is deficient in crucial nutrients
  8. You’re being a pushover (i.e. a doormat)
  9. Opportunity cost (i.e. the invisible expense)
  10. You’re unorganized

Times are unique and interesting these days and with that comes a lot of uncertainty. The spread of coronavirus has disjointed a lot of our lives. I’m seeing a lot of negativity and ‘doom-and-gloom’ speak.

But, it doesn’t have to be this way. Throughout history, difficult circumstances and challenges have arisen and humans have evolved from them.

  1. Reality check
  2. Breathe work
  3. Environment
  4. Workflow
  5. Nutrition
  6. Exercise
  7. Sleep
  8. Connection

While this time may be initially uncomfortable, there is opportunities to come out of this with momentum in all facets of your life.

I’m excited to share this impromptu episode and quickly deliver actionable habits for each of the 8 pillars shared.

Freestyle Friday is shorter episodes that can be any and everything brought up as it relates to your health and human performance.

Music is a big part of my life. As an only child, music is essentially the sibling I never had. Ever since witnessing my first symphony, I’ve been hooked on them since.

When it comes to creating more energy and maximizing your longevity and human performance, there are lessons around every corner you look at.

For instance, on a recent visit to the symphony, I jotted down five takeaways that could be applied to your health and life.

I’m excited to share this episode because I’m fairly this is the first health and fitness podcast that has ever brought classical music to your earbuds.
